THE 13TH KOH LARN CLASSIC

Date : 22nd February 2003 BH3 Run # 1338
Location : The Royal Varuna Yacht Club Pattaya
This yearly event will once again be held for the 13th occasion on the 22nd February 2003 , the format will remain unchanged from previous years for the Koh Larn Classic , sail over to Koh Larn , timed run on the island on the marked route , rejoin the boat and sail back to the yacht club , there will be prizes for fastest sail and the quickest run and combined runner and boat. This year due to the increased boat traffic the drop of point has changed and therefore the race will be over a different route however the hare has had paving installed to make it better under foot , that means the race winner will hold a new record !!
All personnel who wish to enter the Koh Larn Classic please contact the hare to book your ride on the yacht , it will be a first reservation first boat basis .
Start time for Koh Larn Classic , Sign up at 10.00 Brief at 10.30 , Race start 12.00 , please come early have breakfast and meet your boat skipper .
Post race and BH3 circle there will be Three free barrels of beer served at the water front sala , followed by the excellent buffet provided by the Pattaya Marriott resort, Cost for On On On Buffet THB 150 per person . Following in tradition with previous events entertainment will be provided by the RTN and FiFi !! Who is getting a bit rough around the edges these days !!
Accommodation close to the yacht club , provisional reservations have been made for standard rooms at the Dynasty Resort Pattaya , Standard rooms are THB 800 per night this is a special price for this event , individual reservations need to be made by FAX 038 – 250772 ( Tel 038 – 250721 ) and you must state that it is for the “KOH LARN CLASSIC booked by Mr Paul Underwood” please fax them before the 14th of Feb to be sure of a room , after that they may sell them of . (Last years hotels have upped their prices 50% so **** em) the Dynasty is nice with a good pool and new rooms .
BH3 Run # 1338 : Note Time: 14.30 . This is a boat run so do not be late
will start from the yacht club it is an outstation run and therefore OPEN , Normal visitors and daily sign up fees will apply , In addition to the normal visitor fee all participants ( including BH3 Members ) will be asked to contribute THB 100 to assist in some part to the cost of the boats . BH3 has at great cost hired the local services of the Banglamung Bottom Feeders H3 with their wealth of local experience to hare this run , Remember there are three kegs of free beer and a FREE t Shirt so not bad really .
Direction to Royal Varuna Yacht Club: Drive through Pattaya on Sukhumvit , at the lights with South Pattaya road Zero Odometer , proceed to the next lights at 0.8 Km and turn right into Thepasit road continue down this road to the T junction at the end 3.8 Km and turn right , proceed up the hill at 4.7Km turn left opposite the sugar hut bungalows , continue up the hill at 5.5 Km next to the police box turn left , after 50 meters turn left again following the direction sign for island View hotel and Royal Varuna Yacht club , after a further 150 meters take the new road straight on sign posted Island View Hotel and also the Royal Varuna Yacht club continue down this road do not turn to the Island View Hotel , at KM 6.5 on your Odemeter you should be at the car park entrance for the Royal Varuna Yacht club , Totally ignore the sign “saying no addmitance members only” and drive in and park . It’s a great place to sit and have lunch so come early .
Dynasty Hotel Directions : Follow as above to the Police Box , turn left , after 50 meters turn left again following the direction sign for island View hotel and Royal Varuna Yacht club , after 150 meters follow road around to your right ( Sign Dynasty Hotel ) continue down this road for a further 500 ( odemeter KM6.2 ) meters and turn right into soi ( Sign Dynasty Hotel ) , Dynasty is 150 meters into this soi reception on the right .
